“Leaving is something tearful, sad and heart-wrenching even but, I smile because I know you are forever mine and distance would never change that.”

On 18th July 2023, prayer service was organized by the Principal Dr. Sr. Jasmine, Sr. Jennifer and all the faculties to seek the blessings of the Almighty on the outgoing batch of B.COM and BBA. Students Union Members handed over their responsibilities with the college flag and badges. Mementos were distributed to the outgoing students.

On 19th of July, 2023, the St. Philomena family bid farewell to the beloved batch of 2022-23. It was an event that sparked both joy and sorrow in the hearts and minds of the SPFGC family.

This auspicious day began with the welcoming by Ancilla Pinto, to the outgoing batch with loving words. The blessings of the Lord were called upon in the form of a Prayer Song by the juniors.

Various dances and Comic skit were performed by the juniors to their seniors to bid them farewell.

Principal and Staffs conducted Tambola, and other entertaining games.

The Principal of St. Philomena College in her speech said that every girl in this institution, irrespective of their achievements or failures, has to lead a spiritual, intellectual, and a better social life which enables them to climb the ladder of values and success.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the games. Students were felicitated with a sumptuous lunch.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Bushra Kouser of First Year B.Com

This auspicious day left the audience and by-standers with feelings of a tearful eye and a joyous heart for the outgoing batch that are the bright future of our nation.

OUR PATRONESS : ST. PHILOMENA
Philomena – which means “daughter of light” – was a Greek princess who lived on the Island of Corfu during the fourth century. Philomena is the patron saint of the youth. She is often depicted in her youth with two anchors; three arrows, a palm symbol of martyrdom, and a flower.
Through her intercession we pray that the young women entrusted to our care will take St. Philomena as a role model and exemplar in living.

During these three years, your aim should be to form yourself integrally i.e., spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. so do not be satisfied with only classroom instruction and passing of examinations but be keen on acquiring knowledge. Make good use of the library and get involved in all the co-curricular activities, where you can develop your God-given talents. " A person who is young years may be old in hours if has lost no time," says Francis Bacon.

An aimless person is like a boat without a rudder. Your education must prepare you to face life boldly and with self confidence and to play your feminine role in family and society. it should build up your character based on values of honesty, justice, love and concern for others.

Accepting God as the source of all good, you will foster a filial relationship with your heavenly father and develop universal love towards all his children. Self discipline and hard work is necessary as study and work. Remember that "A wasted youth is a wasted life". your life is before you- to make it or mar it.
