LIBRARY :
The college has a spacious and fully computerized library with a collection of well versed volumes. Latest publications in the fields of business management, commerce,economics and other social sciences are continuously added to the collection to enrich the knowledge of students with a wide variety of resources.Also books consisting of various competitive exams are made available to the students.

FACILITIES FOR SPORTS AND GAMES :
SPFGC conducts Annual Sports Meet to encourage it's learners to participate in various sports activities viz. volleyball, relay, Throw ball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Javelin Throw, Shot put ,Chess ,Table Tennis ,Hockey, shuttle badminton, carom etc. The students are encouraged to participate in these sports with sports men and Team Spirit. All the participants are awarded with a certificate of participation and Medals as per their performance.With the belief "A healthy mind in a healthy body", SPFGC provides a wide range of sports, gymnasium and cultural activities to students. Financial support is also provided to students who represent the college in competitive activities at state, national and international level.


EVENTS AND CULTURAL FACILITIES:
SPFGC acknowledges diversity in the origin of its members and the importance of cultural & social activities in improving the personality, enhancing communication skills and building a positive, progressive global outlook. Here we strongly encourage students to participate actively in various events in order to discover their capabilities in various co-curricular activities and help them in their overall development.

COMPUTER LAB :
Computer labs are fully equipped with systems and latest software with an environment to implement and experiment knowledge acquired in the classroom. All the systems have internet facility.

AUDITORIUM AND CONFERENCE HALL:
The college has an auditorium with a professionally-deployed acoustic system and a seating capacity of about 700 people. This auditorium has an immense pride of having hosted several National and International Level Seminars and Conferences. The college also has an indoor conference hall with a seating capacity of 200 people.

The auditorium is spacious, well ventilated and has well furnished halls. A regular venue for conferences, workshops and seminars, this auditorium has all the facilities to enhance the learning process and is a vast space that serves the varied requirements of quality education.

The objective behind the auditorium is to enhance the quality of education. To make this possible, the auditorium offers facilities such as LCD projectors, screens for delivering lectures. It also provides ample opportunity for our staff and students to exhibit their talents in cultural activities.


PLACEMENT CELL :
Academic-Industry link is created by a cell, by maintaining the students profile and coordinating with the corporate world. The cell makes an organised effort to put students in touch with reputed employers and also to train them in writing of resumes and acquaint them with the selection process of the corporate world. Also books consisting of various competitive exams are made available to the students.

HOSTEL FACILITY :
SPFGC provides the best and comfortable hostel facilities to the students. The college has comprehensive hostel facilities for the students. The hostel is annexed with a kitchen, to provide food in a protected and hygienic environment along with a dining hall, which can accommodate around 100 students at a time. Healthy and nutritive food is served.

CANTEEN FACILITY :
There is a modest but adequate canteen which provides nutritious food and beverages at subsidized prices. The canteen gives importance to hygiene with reference to the preparation, storage and serving of food.

St. Philomena First Grade College for Women, founded in 2010, is affiliated to the University of Mysore located at H.N.Pura Road, Hassan, Karnataka. This college belongs to a network of educational institutions administered by Sisters of Charity Educational Society, Mangalore. The Sisters of Charity are involved in a special way in educating young girls, by instilling in them sound values of justice, truth and dignity of life in society. Inspired by these ideals. OUR PATRONESS : ST. PHILOMENA
Philomena – which means “daughter of light” – was a Greek princess who lived on the Island of Corfu during the fourth century. Philomena is the patron saint of the youth. She is often depicted in her youth with two anchors; three arrows, a palm symbol of martyrdom, and a flower.
Through her intercession we pray that the young women entrusted to our care will take St. Philomena as a role model and exemplar in living.

During these three years, your aim should be to form yourself integrally i.e., spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. so do not be satisfied with only classroom instruction and passing of examinations but be keen on acquiring knowledge. Make good use of the library and get involved in all the co-curricular activities, where you can develop your God-given talents. " A person who is young years may be old in hours if has lost no time," says Francis Bacon.

An aimless person is like a boat without a rudder. Your education must prepare you to face life boldly and with self confidence and to play your feminine role in family and society. it should build up your character based on values of honesty, justice, love and concern for others.

Accepting God as the source of all good, you will foster a filial relationship with your heavenly father and develop universal love towards all his children. Self discipline and hard work is necessary as study and work. Remember that "A wasted youth is a wasted life". your life is before you- to make it or mar it.
